Maps and atlases from the Treasury

About 170,000 maps and atlases published after 1850 and approximately 6,000 older cartographic documents are part of Special Collections. Five of them are invaluable. You will find stories about these masterpieces, including beautiful illustrations, in The Treasury.

Wonderfully coloured-in maps adorn Pieter Goos' Zee-atlas ofte waterwereld. Works from the Amsterdam company of the Blaeu family are world famous and should of course be part of The Treasury. The Atlas maior is one of them.
