Private collections

The University Library has various collections coming from scholarly institutes, private collections, collections from church organisations and from scientists and scholars. Every (sub)collection is a separate unit and has its own catalogue or inventory. Five of these collections are so unique that they have earned their place in the Treasury

The private collections include both historical and recent material (manuscripts as well as printed works), The subjects of the collections vary, although the focus is mainly on the humanities: traditionally the fields in which manuscripts and printed works are the major sources.

The subcollections can be requested and consulted in the Special Collections Reading Room. Please contact us for more information.
