Employer and student - Career Services

Utrecht University aims to prepare its students for working life as much as possible. Career Services was founded to build the bridge between students, degree programmes and the job market.
Career Services offers its students (bespoke) trainings, personal coaching sessions, cv checks and provides them with information on alumni and their careers.
Career Services offers employers the chance to:
You can place your student jobs / side jobs in our database. If we consider the vacancy suitable for our target group, we will publish it.
In 2018, 4,000 students from various study programs registered for our vacancy database, which consists of +/- 1,200 jobs, traineeships, internships and part-time student jobs. It is the best recruitment channel and part-time student jobs are by far the most viewed. Many students would like to work beside to their studies, especially in their last year, preferably with potential future employers after they have finished their studies. Employers have the opportunity to post vacancies free of charge, to get acquainted with talented students and to offer them a permanent job immediately after their study.
In short: offer a serious parttime side job to students through a qualitative and effective channel if you want to bring in talent for your organisation.
You can publish the internship opportunities at your organisation in the university-wide database. Please note that every vacancy will be reviewed individually.
You can upload your vacancies in our online database, open to students from all Bachelor- and Master’s programmes. Please note that every vacancy will be reviewed individually.
We can promote your events on the Career Services Facebook page. Send an email to careerservices@uu.nl.
The annual Careers Day is organised by Utrecht University to offer students (bachelor, master and PhD) the chance to orientate themselves on the job market and potential career opportunities. There will be workshops available, a company fair and individual sessions between students and employers.
The Future-proof Skills programme prepares master's students from Utrecht University for a future as an employee or entrepreneur. They are introduced to interesting companies and organizations through workshops organised by professionals from the public and private sector. On the one hand the workshops focus on the development of professional skills such as negotiation, customer service and stakeholdermanagement. On the other hand there is special attention for skills which are centred more around one’s personality, such as personal branding, self-analysis and maintaining the balance between work and private life. The workshops will be held at the location of the potential employer, so that students will be able to get a good impression of the company or organisation.
Get more out of your data! Submit a Data Science Project to our Master's students.
Is your company collecting a ton of data, but do you lack the time or manpower to get the implicit value out of it? Have you thought about collaborating with the data scientists of the future? A student team of our Applied Data Science degree program would be excited to get the most out of your data for you! The projects are integral part of the final thesis which our students deliver at the end of their Master's degree at Utrecht University. One or more student teams will work on your data and research question over a period of 10 weeks (fulltime). The final products and data are described in such a way that they can be re-used in a follow up project at your own organization or in a new project with a student team next year.
Interested? Post your project on Masterchallenge or get in touch with us at thesis.ads@uu.nl (Albert Gatt) or +31 (0) 6 41622282 (Arjen van Vliet) for further details.
