Module 1: Infectious bronchitis virus

Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) is one of the most relevant viruses in the poultry industry causing disease in all types of poultry. This online module concerning IBV is a fusion of science and field knowledge. It will increase your understanding of various aspects regarding IBV infections. If you understand your enemy better, you will be able to control it better!

Course content

This module will increase your understanding of the nature of Infectious Bronchitis Virus, its pathogenesis, how it shows itself, the role of co-infections, the spreading, how to interpret the diagnostic results, as well as how to develop and check vaccination programs for broilers and future layers that keep your birds healthy and control further drift of the virus.

The module is taught in an interactive manner, partly by live presentations that will be recorded as well. Weekly Questioning and Answering sessions, one immediately after the presentations and a second one later in the same week, promote active communication between participants and teachers. Case studies are included every week.

At the end of the module, a short examination will be conducted after which the participants receive a certificate for this postgraduate module, signed by representatives of University of Utrecht and Royal GD.
