The faculty’s primary focus lies in the areas of education, research and patient care. These tasks are conducted by eight departments, including an inter-faculty institute. The faculty also includes the Central Laboratory Animal Research Facility.

The Dean is responsible for the general management of the faculty. In this task, he is supported by a management team with representatives from the educational organisation, the research organisation and the faculty operations in the persons of the vice deans or directors.

Employee input is arranged at the faculty level through the Faculty Council. Two Educational Committees have been formed for educational issues in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes.

The faculty's organisational structure is described in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Regulations.
