The pathology division provides education, research and patient care in the field of pathology. This starts with the acquisition and dissemination of knowledge about the function and dysfunction of cells, tissues and organs to the analysis of the impact of animal diseases on the individual or certain populations. This includes not only pets such as dogs and cats, farm animals such as cattle, but also horses, zoo animals, native wild animals and marine mammals. The Dutch Wildlife Health Centre and the post-mortem investigations of stranded whales also belong to the pathology division.
The mission of the divison of Pathology is to collect and distribute knowledge about the function and disfunction of cells, tissues and organs.
