Jacobus Joannes (Sjaak) de Wit is a senior researcher at the R&D department of Royal GD in Deventer (0.6 FTE) and professor of Integrated Poultry Health Care at the Department of Farm Animal Health of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (0.4 FTE). The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine pays Royal GD an allowance for Sjaak's time.
In addition to the contribution to the education of Veterinary Medicine students and the international education modules of the Poultry Health Science Courses, Sjaak is committed to better connecting fundamental research and applied research in the Netherlands in the field of poultry health care, so that synergy is created where all parties (researchers, poultry, society) benefit.
