Oncology Research group
Together we can make a difference for a patient with cancer
The mission is to study cancer in companion animals and to translate findings into better diagnostics and novel therapies. Our research and patient care are strongly integrated. The scientific focus is the development of vitro models from cancer tissue that became available during treatment of our patients and to use them in fundamental research, and drug discovery. Our biobank of various types of spontaneous cancer in animals is unique in veterinary medicine and can also fill the niche in research of various types of human ‘rare cancers’ with comparable molecular background.
