International Activities

Only an international One Health approach is able to tackle the threat of antimicrobial resistance

We are involved in several international working groups related to combat antimicrobial resistance at a global scale, for instance within the World Health Organisation, Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations and the World Organisation for Animal Health. We offer training on laboratory techniques and regularly act as consultants to assist individual countries in developing policy measures to counteract the emergence of antimicrobial resistance. Further on, researchers from our group are involved in several international research consortia ranging from epidemiological studies on transmission routes of antimicrobial resistance to studies on behaviours of veterinarians and animal owners related to the use of antimicrobials in animals.
