Start to Teach
Start to Teach is a programme for Utrecht University employees who are starting their career in education.
BKO en SKO
Utrecht University attaches great importance to educational quality, educational innovation and teacher development and is therefore the first university in the Netherlands to introduce the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ, in Dutch BKO). A UTQ helps lecturers reflect on their own teaching practice, with a focus on professional development. In addition to the UTQ, UU has a Senior Teaching Qualification (STQ, in Dutch SKO) for senior academics.
Courses and programmes
In a course or programme, together with a group of teachers, you work on certain topics in a number of supervised meetings, with the aim of developing your teaching and/or you qualities as a teacher.
Workshops
The Centre for Academic Teaching and Learning organises various interesting workshops throughout the year. These are short sessions in which different teaching-related topics are covered, with the aim of ensuring that teachers can continue to develop themselves.
E-modules
Het Centre for Academic Teaching and Learning has a wide selection of online modules of strengthening or (re)designing your teaching using digital technology. You can follow them independently and at a time that is most convenient to you.
