We find solutions in the smallest particles!
Research of the Faculty of Science is clustered in themes and founded on a fundamental basis. This enables researchers to work on solutions to complex social problems in the area of sustainability and combating diseases. Even the most fundamental research of the faculty is, either directly or indirectly, the driving force behind the changes in the future.
How does life work at the smallest level? Which materials and energy sources can we develop for a sustainable future? Can we find patterns and structures to help us deal with new situations and knowledge? These are some of the questions our researchers are coping with. And with success.
The Faculty of Science has an excellent and extensive infrastructure for its research activities, like the Electron Microscopy Centre. Many of our facilities are among the top research facilities in Europe and are made available to both internal and external researchers.
Researchers from the Faculty of Science are investigating SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19 and their consequences in many different ways.
