Collaboration

The Faculty of Science sets great store by collaboration with partners. It strives to be a knowledge partner for the government, the industry and social organisations and to be a research partner for other educational institutions. In doing so, the faculty seeks to promote powerful, joint expertise development and to establish a link between science and actual practice.

The first point of contact for collaborations of the researchers of the Faculty of Science is the Research Support Office, which supports all researchers in the faculty with acquisition of external funding for their research.

In addition, there are other bodies in Utrecht that provide support to academics in innovation and entrepreneurship:

  • Utrecht Holdings focuses on the utilisation of academic research and supports scientists in creating, building and investing in innovations;
  • UtrechtInc supports starting entrepreneurs and scientists in setting up their business or spin-off;
  • The Utrecht Centre for Entrepreneurship is the home of entrepreneurial activity at Utrecht University, with a wide variety of courses.

Businesses looking to work together with researchers at Utrecht University to find solutions to general or specific problems can also approach a range of institutes within the faculties or elsewhere in the university. For example one of the research institutes within the Faculty of Science.
