Fundamental knowledge, with a connection to society
The Faculty of Science sets great store by having a connection with society. In the area of education, this means that students acquire scientific knowledge and skills and are prepared for the changing demand on the labour market. Research of the Faculty of Science is clustered in themes and founded on a fundamental basis. This enables researchers to work on solutions to complex social problems in the area of sustainability and combating diseases. Even the most fundamental research of the faculty is, either directly or indirectly, the driving force behind the changes in the future.
The Faculty of Science has a Social Advisory Council with members from the business community, social organisations and politics. They help the Faculty Board to compare its strategy to the outside world.
