As a teacher or coordinator, you determine what is needed to treat the material as well as possible, in the new circumstances. Below you will find a non-exhaustive list of possibilities and resources for each type of education and for remote testing.
The Educate-it tool guide helps teachers choose a tool that works for their learning objectives. Each tool has a brief description, tips for using it, and experiences from users. Manuals are also provided, as are instructions on how to start using the tools in your teaching practice. Naturally, teachers are more than welcome to contact Educate-it for additional support and with any questions about the tools. Go to the tool guide.
Since the cabinet decided to drop the last corona measures, education at UU can again take place without restrictive measures. Because the coronavirus is still with us, staff and students may be absent more often than before because they are in quarantine or isolation due to a (possible) corona infection. These guidelines explain how we interpret existing agreements and regulations concerning illness in the light of corona.
Take the protection of personal data into account when storing and sharing (video) educational materials. This means that no images or materials may be published in which personal data are visible in text or images. More information can be found on intranet or contact the helpdesk van Educate-it.
The UU considers it important that the privacy of students and staff is safeguarded when using software. For a number of tools, the research into privacy risks has not yet been completed. These are currently being accelerated. Pending the outcome of these investigations, the Executive Board has taken the following decisions regarding the use of digital tools:
- The use of Zoom is not recommended because there are potential privacy risks that are still under investigation. In the meantime, use is tolerated in blocks 2 and 3. Anyone wishing to use Zoom despite the possible risks is advised to contact ITS (via Jeroen Schipper and Peter Scheeren) for a licence. The costs for the licence will be charged on. No support is offered when using Zoom. However, you can consult this page.
- The use of online proctoring is permitted under certain conditions. More information can be found on the page about testing and online proctoring (or via email@example.com).
