Future Learning Spaces

The increased use of activating and blended education challenges teachers and students to change how they utilise the physical learning environment in face-to-face education.

Utrecht University is currently formulating a vision of the physical learning environment based on a diversity of academic disciplines. This vision reflects the core elements that the university prioritises in its aim to offer a high-quality education. Personal, intensive, flexible, activating and small-scale education forms the foundation of how we organise our curriculum. The physical learning environment should be a reflection of that.

With Future Learning Spaces, we experiment with new concepts to explore how the physical learning environment can contribute to Utrecht University’s vision of education.
