(War)games are also increasingly popular among gamers, hobbyists, historians, and basement-dwellers around the world; who play for fun, understanding and intellectual challenge. gamification (NOUN) / ˌɡeɪmɪfɪˈkeɪʃ(ə)n/: An umbrella term that comprises widely recognised methods for analysis, as well as tools for training students, diplomats, managers, businesses, negotiators, commanders and peacebuilders around the world. Games are also increasingly popular among teachers, historians, gamers, hobbyists, and basement-dwellers around the world; who play for fun, understanding and intellectual challenge. By understanding and applying game models, methods and mechanics, teachers can ‘game’ diverse and complex subject matter in manners not possible through conventional teaching.
