With an ERC grant of 2.25 million euro Sociology professor Tanja van der Lippe,started a research project on company investments in a sustainable workforce. Which employers invest time and money in training programs, create flexible work opportunities, develop work-life policies, try to enhance the long-term employability of older workers, and invest in flexible and secure contractual arrangements? Which employees use the facilities and what are the consequences for productivity and labour satisfaction.
Data-collection will be via online and paper-based questionnaires. In nine countries, employees and managers in 30 organizations will participate. The project will lead to policy recommendations for a sustainable workforce of the future.
