The Utrecht University Botanic Gardens are the largest academic botanical garden in the Netherlands with an area of 100,000 m2. A visit will give you fresh perspective on the world. Among more than 10,000 plant species from all over the world, you will discover something new every day!
The Gardens
The Butterfly Greenhouse will remain closed until our 'zoo permit application' has been approved. A part of our Gardens lies unused in preparation for a new Arboretum. The Gardens will remain easily accessible.
Summer evenings in the Gardens
Normally it's the animals and insects that enjoy the Botanic Gardens at dusk. You can also explore the Gardens during sunset, every Thursday evening in June.
