Extra episode 8: Border

In this episode, Dr. Tessa Diphoorn and Dr. Brianne McGonigle-Leyh are joined by Dr. Özge Bilgili, an assistant professor of Interdisciplinary Social Science, and Dr. Ilse van Liempt, an associate professor in Urban Geography, to discuss the concept of ‘Border’.

Together, they discuss their individual definitions of the concept of ‘border’ and how they apply it in their respective fields of research. The complexities of the concept are explored, questioning whether a border is simply a line or a dynamic process. And what are the distinctions between borders and boundaries?  They also explore the distinction between borders and boundaries and examine the concept of ‘border’ by treating it as a verb – bordering – and delve into its implications.
