Rosanna Fund for Women
Goal: support talented women students and researchers in their career at Utrecht University

The Rosanna Fund for Women provides short-term scholarships up to a maximum of 5,000 euros annually, for example for tuition, travel expenses, foreign residence, or to complete a dissertation. The increasing number of applications shows that the need for financial support among talented female students and scientists is still very high.
Who are eligible for grants?
Female researchers at crossroads in their careers. ROSANNA offers them financial support to reach the next professional step: a grant for a PhD or postdoc, assistance with publications or study trips abroad, support in obtaining a permanent appointment or professorship, etc. The amount awarded depends on the candidate's financial situation, plans and needs. A grant from the Rosanna Fund for Women may vary per candidate, depending on the specific needs of the candidate.
The next deadline to apply for a Rosanna Fund Scholarship is 1 december, 2021.
The Rosanna Fund for Women supports talented and disadvantaged women students and researchers who intend to build their careers at Utrecht University. The fund offers women students and researchers financial support to help them achieve academic success. The Rosanna Fund wishes to make higher education more accessible to women, so that no one has to be excluded because of limited financial means.

The Rosanna Fund for Women offers short-term scholarships between € 2.500 and € 5.000. The awarded amount depends on the candidate’s financial situation, plans, and needs. A Rosanna scholarship can differ from candidate to candidate, depending on the specific needs of the candidate in question.

About the founders
prof. dr. Rosi Braidotti is Distinguished University Professor and founding director of the Centre for the Humanities at Utrecht University (2007-2016). As Professor of Women’s Studies (1988-2005) she has always been highly committed to the advancement of women. Her books offer insight into the complexity of contemporary society and inspire readers to commit to socially sustainable systems.
prof. dr. Anneke Smelik is an alumna of Film Studies at Utrecht University. She is professor of Visual Culture at the Radboud University Nijmegen, where she researches the relation between fashion, technology and sustainability. She is inspired by western Buddhism to create spiritual values both in research and in daily life.
