The Utrecht University Fund raises funds for university projects in the fields of research, education, student life and academic heritage. Thanks to the support of many donors, funds and companies, the fund makes the difference in all kinds of projects.
Dust research Atlantic Ocean
On a large sailing ship, Master's student (Earth, Life and Climate) Roel Jan van Zonneveld researched the origins and flows of dust from Africa. This dust is an important food source for algae in the Atlantic Ocean, which in turn have a major influence on the climate.
Opera and festival 'Doctor Atomic'
In 2023, the Utrecht Student Concert celebrated its 200th anniversary with an opera and festival about the inventor of the atomic bomb: Robert Oppenheimer. The special combination of opera and festival was made possible thanks in part to the support of the Utrecht University Fund. Restauration of glass models
The University Museum Utrecht possesses a scientific collection of 128 glass models of marine animals unique to the Netherlands. The University Fund has raised funds to restore and exhibit this magnificent 'Blaschka Collection'.
Money worries shouldn't impact on your studies
Charisma Hehakaya was the first in her family to go to college. Due to her own experiences she founded the First Generation Fund. This fund aims to remove financial barriers so that these first generation students have more peace and space to develop themselves.
