Apply for funding for alumni activities

Alumni associations and student organisations with an alumni policy affiliated to the Utrecht University can apply to the Utrecht University Fund for funding for their own alumni activities. Examples of activities that may qualify for funding:

  • Activities relating to the careers of alumni and/or expanding their network. Examples include coaching, training courses or workshops on professional development.
  • Activities that promote contacts between alumni and the University, the association and/or students. These may include mentoring programmes between alumni and students, the deployment of alumni in providing degree programme information, etc.
  • Activities for alumni that may be of interest to the alumni association. For example, a lecture by a study society or a sports event organised by a student sports club (but not the other way around).

If only part of the activity is eligible for funding, the budget can be divided. For example: lectures followed by a dinner can be divided into a budget for the lectures and the budget for the dinner.

If you want to know whether your project is eligible for funding, read the terms and conditions. If you are planning to apply for funding, please bear in mind the deadlines listed below. One of the conditions is that your application must be submitted at least eight weeks before the start of an activity. Applications are assessed once every six weeks, meaning you will receive a response from us no later than six weeks after the date of your application. Note: during the summer we go on recess.
