Checklist: Before you leave home

To do before you leave home:

• Arrange housing and make an appointment to pick up your keys
• Ask your bank about credit card and ATM use in the Netherlands
• Arrange health and liability insurance
• Send the documents for your Visa or Residence Permit (if applicable)

Things to bring:

• A passport, valid for at least one month after your departure from the Netherlands (or ID card for EU citizens)
• Proof of health insurance
• A credit card (Visa or Mastercard) is highly recommended
• Bed linen / towels (optional)
• A rain coat, a warm jacket, scarf and gloves
