Reserved housing for international Staff & Guests (non PhD)
Dutch Universities do not own accommodation. Utrecht University does reserve short stay housing with housing providers. Please be aware that the number of accommodation is limited and the university cannot guarantee the availability. The accommodation is exclusively available for international staff, guests and PhDs who do not yet live in the Netherlands. That is either with or without an employment contract and including those who are temporarily affiliated to Utrecht University.
You can book four months prior to arrival. Booking is on first come, first served basis.

Reserved housing for staff & visiting guests (non PhD)
For new international staff or visiting guests that do not yet live in the Netherlands, Utrecht University reserves furnished housing via SSH Short Stay. The accommodation available to international staff and guests is mostly self-contained single and two person studios with private facilities. There is also a limited number of accommodation suitable for families with (young) children. As a future staff member or guest you need to meet the following conditions to apply for this reserved accommodation:
- You are appointed as a future international UU staff member or guest or are temporarily affiliated to Utrecht University
- You are new to the Netherlands and currently live abroad
- Your UU faculty's HR contact person has informed the International Service Desk (ISD) of your arrival
