UU Reserved Accommodation Programme: Staff & Guests (non PhD)
Dutch universities do not own accommodation. The UU Reserved Accommodation Programme therefore reserves furnished housing for new international staff and guests with housing provider SSH Short Stay. Availability is, however, limited, and finding housing through this programme is not guarenteed.
Eligibility criteria
To apply for the UU Reserved Accommodation Programme, you must meet the following criteria:
- You are appointed as a future international UU staff member or guest, or temporarily affiliated with Utrecht University;
- You are new to the Netherlands and currently live abroad;
- Your UU faculty's HR contact has informed the International Service Desk (ISD) of your arrival

Accommodation types
The accommodations available for international staff and guests are mostly self-contained single and two person studios with private facilities. There are also a few accommodations available suitable for families with (young) children. All are situated within travelling distance of the various university locations, either on the International Campus Utrecht or in the historical Utrecht city centre. For current offers and examples, please visit the SSH Short Stay website.

Rental period
SSH Short Stay accommodation can be rented for a minimum of one calendar month, and a maximum of one year. Early contract termination is only possible in some instances or after consulting UU. For more information, please visit the SSH Short Stay help page.
