Agencies, platforms and current availability

The largest share of housing in Utrecht is provided by private home owners and housing providers. Most housing offers are posted on housing platforms by current tenants, landlords and agencies. The available offers and the housing advertised on the platforms and pages is not checked by Utrecht University. You must come to an agreement in direct contact with the housing provider without interference of Utrecht University.

  • Eligibility: international PhD candidates newly employed at Utrecht University who have not lived in the Netherlands before
  • Rental period: per 2 February 2026, minimum 6 months stay and no fixed end date
  • Location: Boomerang Building, Maarssen
  • Facilities: furnished, self-contained studio with private kitchen and bathroom
  • Registration fee: 29,50 euros
  • Rent: 1124 euros per month including utilities

  • Deposit: 1100 euros (including a 200 euro booking fee)

  • Eligibility: international UU (PhD) students. Eligibility will be verified by UU.
  • Rental period: per 1 January 2026 until 27 or 31 January 2026 (extension of the contract is not possible)
  • Location: Kriekenpitplein, University College Utrecht
  • Facilities: furnished, self-contained studio with private kitchen and bathroom
  • Rent: 738.63-824.02 euros per month, including utilities
