The location: University Hall

The Faculty Club is housed in the ceremonial heart of Utrecht University: Utrecht University Hall (Dutch name: Academiegebouw). Here, students graduate, and PhD defences and inaugural lectures take place. It is a house for debates, lectures and conferences. The Auditorium is the oldest part of the building and dates back to 1462. In 1579, the Union of Utrecht was signed here, which is considered the start of the nation of the Netherlands. Annually, Utrecht University Hall draws between a hundred thousand and two-hundred thousand visitors.

Because of these inspiring academic surroundings with their long-standing traditions, there is no better location to establish our association. The Faculty Club has its own entrance at the back of Utrecht University Hall, Achter de Dom 7, but is closely connected to the other rooms in Utrecht University Hall.
