Lectures
Lectures are a standard part of our activities. When planning the lectures, we try to connect light topics with academic topics. That is how we start the discussion, which can sometimes last until late into the night.
One example of this is that in the past year, we were taken on a journey into the making of the artwork Skyscraper (the blue-white whale that jumped out of the water in the canal near Tivoli Vredenburg for some months). In this lecture, there was attention for the connection with the multidisciplinary Utrecht-based research into the causes and damaging consequences of the ‘plastic soup’.
Furthermore, we were initiated into the secrets of Germany during a lecture on the German evening. There were also various lectures by Studium Generale on the schedule, preceded by a dinner in the Sitting-Room with a short introduction by the guest speaker.
