SPANN Fund

The SPANN Fund aims to promote the intake of international students of Dutch Studies in the Dutch research Master's programme Nederlandse literatuur en cultuur (Dutch literature and culture). To this end, the fund provides financial contributions to students admitted to the research Master's programme Nederlandse literatuur en cultuur from outside the Netherlands and Belgium. The money can be used to compensate for part of the tuition fees and high housing costs in Utrecht.

Who is eligible?

Students without Dutch or Belgian nationality, from both the EU and abroad, who have already been admitted to the research Master's programme Nederlandse literatuur en cultuur at Utrecht University.

Amount

A total of 5,000 euros is available. Each student can apply for a maximum amount of 5000 euro, but the actual amount awarded depends on the number of applications and the amount applied for.

Procedure

If you want to be considered for this fund, please send a short motivation letter of max. 1 A4, incl. budget in which you indicate which costs you want to cover with the requested amount, to e.stronks@uu.nl, treasurer SPANN, after admission by the Admission Committee of the research Master's programme. If the budget is not sufficient to grant the requested amount to all applicants, the treasurer will divide the budget.

Deadline

Applications should be submitted as soon as possible after notification of admission by the Admission Committee of the research Master's programme and no later than 1 July. Students will hear by 15 July whether the application can be honoured.
