Urban NBS Day 2022

Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) and Wageningen University & Research invite you to an Urban NBS Day for sharing practices and innovative ideas on how to integrate urban Nature Based Solutions (NBS) into Dutch cities in support of environmental and social objectives. The Urban NBS Day 2022 on May 31st will have two main themes: co-finance and digitalisation.

While we all agree that urban nature-based solutions - such as green roofs or urban gardens - can contribute to more sustainable cities, many of these projects are not financed and realized due to lacking collaboration between different stakeholders. Digital solutions - such as platforms – can enable such collaborations, but often find limited acceptance by stakeholders and according application in practice.

Our goal is to facilitate knowledge exchange between research and practice, develop new ideas together, and initiate future collaborations for implementing urban NBS in cities. We invite researchers, practitioners, and students to discuss this issue and propose novel approaches to foster urban NBS.

Keynote speaker

We're particularly glad to announce Prof. Harriet Bulkeley as the keynote speaker for this event!
