How to apply

Please submit your application for Pathways to Sustainability Youth as agent of sustainable change by filling out the application form, including the following information up to a maximum of 3 pages for each application:

  • A clear title
  • Conducting high-quality interdisciplinary research
  • Clearly addressing and combining the objectives of both strategic themes (Dynamics of Youth and Pathways to Sustainability)
  • A clear connection with the UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • Transdisciplinary, with at least two faculties from Utrecht University actively included in the proposed project
  • Make clear how stakeholders will be involved and who these stakeholders are
  • Involvement of young researchers (highly recommended)
  • Involvement of youth (highly recommended)
  • Clear indication of intended outcomes, deliverables and impact
  • Indication of how the proposed project can create outlook on a large grant application
  • Indication of how the proposed project can stimulate further platform or think-tank activity
  • Other possible or expected deliverables and follow-up
  • A clear budget (indicating as clearly as possible for which purposes funding will be applied)

The maximum seed money grant per project is €20,000. The total available budget is €80,000.

Deadline and application

The deadline for applications is set on 2 November 2020. Please submit your application to DoY-PtS@uu.nl.

Selection process

A jury of four persons will evaluate and award: two representatives from the Dynamics of Youth programme committee, together with two representatives from the Pathways to Sustainability programme board. Decisions on applications will be communicated no later than 15 December 2020.
