Prof. dr. Wilmar Schaufeli is professor of work and organizational psychology at Utrecht University (Netherlands) and distinguished research professor at Leuven University (Belgium).

Whereas Mirko and Margriet are interested in professionals related to the changing context in which they have to work or to the high performance they have to deliver, Wilmar is because of his background as a professor of work and organizational psychology more interested in professionals' well-being and motivation. He wants to know more about the psychical impact on individuals of working in a professional work field. Despite the fact that almost every human being works quite a lot hours a day, there is little research done to its affect on the well-being of the individual. By being a part of this focus area, Wilmar wants to give attention to this underexposed part of professionalism.
