Elizabeth Uduwa Vidanalage
Elizabeth Uduwa Vidanalage is a PhD candidate at Utrecht University's Department of Clinical Psychology as of January 2022. She is part of a joint doctorate program with KU Leuven. The project's overall goal is to investigate the mechanisms underlying virtual reality exposure (VRE). First, the efficacy of VRE in socially anxious adolescents will be investigated in a randomized controlled trial. Additionally, three candidate mechanisms (i.e., expectancy violation, habituation, self-efficacy) will be examined in a series of controlled studies. Various studies are planned, some of which will be conducted at KU Leuven (partner institution). She is supervised by Dr. Katharina Meyerbröker and Prof. Dr. Iris Engelhard (UU), and Dr. Sara Scheveneels and Prof. Dr. Dirks Hermans (KU Leuven).

Yibei Liu is a PhD candidate at the department of Clinical Psychology. The goal of her PhD project is to improve psychotherapy for depression by using computational modeling to identify young people's individual learning strengths and offering them customized CBT procedures based on these strengths. She is supervised by Dr. Geert-Jan Will, Dr. Sanne Bruijniks, Prof. Iris Engelhard, and Prof. Jaap Denissen.
