    Iris Engelhard is Full Professor in Clinical Psychology at Utrecht University since 2008. She is the director of the EPP lab Utrecht. She is a registered Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (Cognitive Gedragstherapeut VGCt®) and a licensed Health Care psychologist.

  • Paul Pfaff

    Paul Pfaff is a research assistant at the Department of Clinical Psychology since May 2024. As part of his work, he will prepare experimental studies and work on a manual for the use and analysis of the psychophysiological measures at the department. He is interested in the mechanisms and theory behind anxiety disorders. His main supervisor is dr. Wouter Cox.

    Bart Endhoven is a PhD candidate at the department of Clinical Psychology and the Altrecht Academic Anxiety center in Utrecht.

  • Elizabeth Uduwa Vidanalage

    Elizabeth Uduwa Vidanalage is a PhD candidate at Utrecht University's Department of Clinical Psychology as of January 2022. She is part of a joint doctorate program with KU Leuven. The project's overall goal is to investigate the mechanisms underlying virtual reality exposure (VRE). First, the efficacy of VRE in socially anxious adolescents will be investigated in a randomized controlled trial. Additionally, three candidate mechanisms (i.e., expectancy violation, habituation, self-efficacy)  will be examined in a series of controlled studies. Various studies are planned, some of which will be conducted at KU Leuven (partner institution). She is supervised by Dr. Katharina Meyerbröker and Prof. Dr. Iris Engelhard (UU), and Dr. Sara Scheveneels and Prof. Dr. Dirks Hermans (KU Leuven).

    Dr. Van Loey received her PhD in 2003 at Utrecht University. She is a visiting researcher at Utrecht University. Areas of expertise include psychological consequences of burn injuries, associations between pain and itch in connection with traumatic stress and the impact of traumatic experiences on the family system.

    Elise Boersma-van Dam is a PhD candidate at the department of Clinical Psychology and at the Association of Dutch Burn Centres in Beverwijk.

    Annemarie van Elburg is child and adolescent psychiatrist and professor of Clinical Psychopathology, specifically eating disorders.

  • Yibei Liu

    Yibei Liu is a PhD candidate at the department of Clinical Psychology. The goal of her PhD project is to improve psychotherapy for depression by using computational modeling to identify young people's individual learning strengths and offering them customized CBT procedures based on these strengths. She is supervised by Dr. Geert-Jan Will, Dr. Sanne Bruijniks, Prof. Iris Engelhard, and Prof. Jaap Denissen.
