Hydrological modelling of lakes and reservoirs

In this project of the Water, Climate & Future Deltas hub, the researchers develop the global hydrological models PCR-GLOBWB and the Integrated Model to Assess the Global Environment–Global Nutrient Model (IMAGE-GNM) using updated lake and reservoir data, primarily from HyoLAKES. The processing and paramiterisation will result in an improved representation of water fluxes over the earth surface. This is particularly important for water residence times, sediment delivery, and nutrient and pollutant chemistry and transfer.
