Integrated flood risk management in practice

Integrated solutions, combining flood safety with other societal needs, are a response to the need for more sustainable and flexible flood risk management. Pilot projects of these innovative measures are currently being implemented at multiple locations in the Rhine-Meuse delta. Researchers at the Water, Climate and Future Deltas hub conducted technical and legal research concerning the Room for the River project, dikes and their forelands.
