"Open up. See what the other is capable of."

Denise Langreder is member of Studying without Limitations, a peer-to-peer group for students with a disability. The group consists mainly of peer supporters.

"For me, diversity and inclusion mean that everyone’s welcome. It doesn’t matter what kind of relationship you prefer, what gender you are, what your background is or whether you have a disability - everyone can join in and that’s how you create a diverse society.

I get the impression that people are still thinking in terms of what’s not possible, and that as soon as you move away from rigid guidelines, you don’t belong or things stop being possible.

I want to challenge people to be open and find out what the other person is thinking. Don’t focus on what that person can’t do but on what he or she can do. Offer advice and start a dialogue. Think about what people can’t do right now but could do with just a minor change without causing problems for the other students or final attainment levels."
