Utrecht University stands for a socially safe and inclusive work environment. How do you personally contribute to that? And how can you, as a team, discuss your cooperation and interactions with one another. How do you have a constructive conversation about what is desirable or undesirable behaviour? This training will provide you with methods to discuss social safety and how everyone can contribute. But you will also reflect on how inclusive your team is.

As a manager, you have an important role to play in cultivating a culture where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential and contribute to the success of the organization. How can you contribute to a socially safe working environment, how do you start a conversation about inappropriate behaviour, how do you give feedback? In this training of 5 hours, divided in two sessions, you will work with an actor to develop your leadership skills. Between sessions you will practice and experiment.

Everyone at Utrecht University has the right to a socially safe working environment in which inappropriate behaviour does not belong. But it can still happen that students or employees are approached in ways they find inappropriate, such as ways that involve (sexual) harassment, discrimination, aggression, violence or bullying. In order to deal with and stop this, the online training course Dealing with Inappropriate Behaviour has been developed for supervisors.

In this workshop, within an hour, you'll be given tools to understand how to recognise undesirable behaviour and what you can do to address it. This way, you'll never be at a loss for words again when you see someone doing something you don't think is okay, but are unsure whether to intervene.
