Breadth and depth go hand in hand

Societies in the 21st century need broadly educated academics who are able to use their specialised expertise effectively and in cooperation with others. This means knowledge of other fields of study is becoming increasingly important for the academics of the future, who are also expected to be able to reflect on the social and scientific position of their own discipline.

This conviction lies at the basis of Utrecht University's four large-scale, Dutch-taught broad Bachelor's programmes organised by the School of Liberal Arts: Taal- en cultuurstudiesLiberal Arts and Sciences,  Kunstmatige intelligentie (KI) and Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE).
