Dr. Lorena De Vita

Dr. Lorena De Vita is an Assistant Professor in the History of International Relations at the Department of History and Art History. She is fascinated by the complexity - and possibility - of dialogue and cooperation in global politics. Her research, outreach and teaching activities are inspired by a multi-perspectivity and interdisciplinary approach. Originally from Rome, Italy, she wrote her PhD on German-Israeli reconciliation in the aftermath of the Holocaust at Aberystwyth University (UK) after having studied at the University of Roma Tre (Italy) and the London School of Economics. Her book, Israelpolitik: German-Israeli Relations 1949-1969, was praised by reviewers as 'international history at its best'.

What does dialogue in international politics look like?

Lorena De Vita has been a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, a bridge between young and talented researchers, since 2021.
