Dr. Baskaran Balasingham

Baskaran Balasingham is an Assistant Professor in the School of Law. ‘Internationally minded’ he has pursued his academic career in various countries. He obtained his PhD at King’s College London (2016).

In his research, Baskaran seeks to find out how competition law and policy can contribute to a better society – such as the regulation of Big Tech or more recently equality as a public interest goal in competition law.

How can competition law and policy contribute to a better society?

As a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, Baskaran aims to further increase the internationalisation and diversity at Utrecht University.

Baskaran Balasingham has been a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, a bridge between young and talented researchers, since 2023.
