Research UCERF

Our research concerns family & law, which involves themes with a high societal impact and which are often at the centre of political attention. Our research programme has an overarching focus upon the role of the state in a globalising and changing world, having regard for autonomy and the protection of families, children and individuals.

This covers topics such as divorce, maintenance, property relations, descent, children’s rights and child protection, transgender rights, care and employment, equality and human rights, EU citizenship, the rights of elderly persons and private international family law.

Our research is partly funded by third parties such as the Research Centre of the Ministry of Justice and Security (WODC), NWO and the EU.
