Mix die taal! Or maybe not?
Many bilinguals combine or mix different languages when they speak. We aim to find out if children have difficulties learning language from mixed sources. Also, we aim to investigate how and why children mix, and if language mixing is different for children with and without a developmental language disorder.
For this research project, we are looking for bilingual families with children between 3 and 6 years of age. Children with DLD can participate if they are between 3 and 6.5 years of age. By participating in our study, you can help bilingual families in the future. Our findings will give heath and educational professionals the information they need to better help parents and children. You can read more about what participation entails under Participate?
If you are interested, we can send you the results of our project. These will be results on the level of the group; they will be about all participating families.
