The staff of the Human Geography and Regional Planning department actively participates in one Bachelor's and six Master's programmes. For students from other bachelor's programmes who are interested in human geography and spatial planning we offer several minor programmes.

Bachelor's programme

Sociale Geografie en Planologie

The world is changing. Regions are changing. The population grows and shrinks, people migrate to cities and other countries. Some regions have economic growth, others don't. The cultural diversity in cities increases. All these spatial changes create new challenges and new problems. This is the workfield of social geographers and urban planners. Geografie: educatie en communicatie

As a Geography teacher you convey your knowlegde and enthusiasm to others in a professional way. Geographical Information Management and Applications (GIMA)

Human Geography

In the Human Geography programme, you will study urban regions and their economic developments from various academic perspectives and thematic angles. International Development Studies

In this master you are trained to analyse increasing urbanisation, growing environmental threats and uneven economic globalisation. NETHUR

We are part of the national research school NETHUR (Netherlands Graduate School of Urban and Regional Research) and a leading international centre for the multi-disciplinary study of urban and regional development.
