Bachelor and Master programmes

The staff of the Human Geography and Regional Planning department offers one Bachelor’s and six Master’s programmes. For students from other bachelor’s programmes who are interested in human geography and spatial planning we offer several minor programmes. Finally, the department offers a tailormade large minor to students in Economics and Business Economics.

Bachelor’s programme

The world is changing. Regions are changing. The population grows and shrinks, people migrate to cities and other countries. Some regions have economic growth, others do not. The cultural diversity in cities increases. All these spatial changes create new challenges and new problems. This is the work field of social geographers and urban planners. International Development Studies focuses on current development issues and teaches conceptual, theoretical, and empirical knowledge of trends and topics on the development agenda.
