Stories

Academically oriented internships, in national and international museums, are an important part of the CHIP programme. Thanks to a collaborative project with the Catharijneconvent, Utrecht, students will visit the museum on a series of occasions in the Spring of 2021: for expert lectures on the architectural history of the site, the collections and research into them, and projects in which the museum participates. These include ‘Museums as Ritual Sites’: https://museumrituals.com/  to which students have the opportunity to contribute.

The CHIP lecture, scheduled for 20 April 2021, will be given by Dr. Lieke Wijnia (Curator of post-Reformation Catholic collections at the Catharijneconvent), on the challenges of preserving religious heritage in contemporary civil society.

This special collaboration with the Catharijneconvent forms part of the Heritage: Dynamics of Collections course (UCHUMHAR32), which is one of the two pre-requisite courses for the CHIP. Read stories of past internships and excursions here.
