The CHIP programme gave me the opportunity to experience the everyday running of a museum, allowed me to consider future career paths, and helped me to develop my research skills in preparation for my undergraduate dissertation.

Professional background

CHIP Internships: I worked with the Africa, Oceania and Americas Department at the British Museum on several different projects, including the Google Maya Project. This aimed to digitise a large collection of glass plate photography documenting archaeological sites taken by Alfred Maudslay in the 1880s. The project exemplified the importance of interdisciplinary ways of thinking, which is so central to the Liberal Arts program at University College Utrecht.

Further education: MA in History of Art at the University of East Anglia.

Current position: Before beginning my master's, I worked for a year for the Dorset County Museum in Dorset, England, as an image researcher and member of the Fine Arts department.
