Sander Hintzen

CHIP gave me the opportunity to not only test my academic knowledge acquired at University College Utrecht, but it also provided a hands-on placement that allowed me to further think about future career paths. CHIP taught me to creatively use my background to adapt to institutional settings.

Professional background

CHIP Internships: At the Arts department of The Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam. The internship placement greatly informed my bachelor, and subsequent master thesis, by showing the strength of multidisciplinary ways of thinking to contextualize and question institutional practices.

Further education: MA in Curating Art, including Management and Law at Stockholm University. Within the master programme I was able to take the knowledge from CHIP, and University College Utrecht’s curriculum, to further investigate the curatorial position.

Current position: After having worked in institutional settings (i.e. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Moderna Museet), I am currently an independent curator and producer with an interest in modernity, materiality and queerness.
