CHIP gave me the opportunity to gain practical experience and start developing a network in the museum and cultural heritage sector. This launched my subsequent career in critical heritage studies.

Professional background

CHIP Internships: At the Department of Africa, Oceania and the Americas of the British Museum and with the Karanga Aotearoa Repatriation Programme of the National Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, 2010. These internships formed the bases of her thesis on the repatriation of Maori human remains.

Further education: MPhil in Archaeological Heritage and Museums at the University of Cambridge (2011-2012), PhD at Deakin University in Melbourne (2013-2017) on the role of human rights in the preparation of the World Heritage nomination of the historic and Buddhist site Bagan in Myanmar.

Recent position: Teaching Fellow at the Ironbridge International Institute for Cultural Heritage at the University of Birmingham: MA World Heritage and the MA International Heritage Management.
