The Sustainability Office works together with researchers, staff and students to make Utrecht University sustainable.
We have the ambition of becoming carbon-neutral by 2030. Therefore we have placed sustainability at the heart of the University’s core tasks of education and research and in its business operations.
Our mission is to mobilize, challenge and facilitate everyone to jointly transform Utrecht University into a role model in sustainability, demonstrating in its operations solutions to society for the sustainability issues of our time.
We want to set an example for other organizations by prioritizing sustainability and working on this together with all students, staff and stakeholders. We solve local sustainability issues by actively connect research and operations. This creates room for experimentation and finding innovative solutions.
