Living Lab

As of november 2016, the Self-Regulation Lab has an ongoing collaboration with the city council and a community center in one of Utrecht’s underprivileged neighbourhoods (Nieuw Welgelegen), yielding a so-called ‘Living Lab’. The community center has signaled various contexts in which people display suboptimal (e.g., unhealthy, or non-sustainable) behavior. Researchers from the Self-Regulation Lab will work in these contexts to test the effectiveness of various behavior change strategies. Particularly, we are interested in nudging strategies, being cheap and easy-to-implement adjustments in the environment that could guide behavior toward more optimal choices.
