Minister Adema discussing animal-free innovations in Utrecht on 23 April 2023

TPI Utrecht (Transitie Proefdiervrije Innovatie Utrecht, or Transition to Animal-free Innovation Utrecht) was founded in October 2019 by the Utrecht Life Sciences Deans, on behalf of the boards of Utrecht University (UU), the University Medical Centre Utrecht (UMCU) and the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, to give the national efforts put in to the transition to animal-free science a boost in and from Utrecht.

TPI Utrecht is a working group consisting of ambassadors: professors and other people with relevant knowledge and influence. The working group’s assignment is “to initiate the desired transition” in cooperation with the deans and the boards, making use of the broad expertise within and outside the university.
